Nephritic syndrome (or acute nephritic syndrome) is asyndrome comprising signs of nephritis, which is kidney diseaseinvolving inflammation. It often occurs in glomerulonephritis, which is characterized by a thin glomerular basement membrane and small pores in the podocytes of the glomerulus, large enough to permit proteins and red blood cells to pass into the urine (yieldingproteinuria and hematuria). By contrast, nephrotic syndrome is characterized by only proteins moving into the urine. Nephritic syndrome, like nephrotic syndrome, may involve hypoalbuminemia due to the protein albumin moving from theblood to the urine
of chronic glomerulonephritis cannot be identified.
CAUSE
Purpura
Nephritic syndrome is caused by inflammation of glomerulus and has urine waste, furthermore the cause can be infectious, autoimmune or thrombotic. The causes can be divided between age groups as follows:
CHILDREN/ADOLESCENTS
Nephritic SYNDROME
Iga nephropathy
Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis
Hemolytic uremic syndrome
Henoch–Schönlein purpura
ADULTS
Goodpasture syndrome
SLE
Rapidly progressing glomerulonephritis (rpgns)
Infective endocarditis
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Hematuria
Symptoms consistent with nephritic syndrome are:
Hematuria (blood in the urine)
Proteinuria (protein in the urine)
Hypertension
Blurred vision
Azotemia
Oliguria (low urine output <400 ml/day)
The classic diagnoses of nephritic syndrome is post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis, which is a common complication of Streptococcus bacterial infections, typically of the skin.
Among the tests done to diagnose if an individual has nephritic syndrome are: blood electrolytes, blood urea nitrogen, potassium test, protein in the urine, urinalysis and kidney biopsy.
HOMOEOPATHIC APPROACH
Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat ulcerative colitis but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility. As far as therapeutic medication is concerned, several well-proved medicines are available for this condition, treatment that can be selected on the basis of cause, condition, sensation and modalities of the complaints.
